A pregnancy scan for assessment of your baby's growth and wellbeing from 24 - 40 weeks.
Fetal Measurements
The following measurements will be taken during your growth scan.
Bi-parietal Diameter (BPD) - The measurement from one side of the baby's head to the other
Head Circumference (HC) - The measurement around your baby's head.
Abdominal Circumference (AC) - The measurement around your baby's abdomen.
Femur Length (FL) - The measurement of your baby's thigh bone.
These measurents can be used to produce an Estimated Fetal Weight (EFW) for your baby.
Further assessment will include :
Presentation Check- To check whether your baby's head is up (breech) or down (cephalic).
Placental site check - To exclude a low lying placenta.
Amniotic fluid check - To assess the volume of amniotic fluid surrounding your baby.
It may be necessary to perform further checks on the blood flow through the umbilical cord.
Your Babyvision growth scan will be accompanied by a full report and supporting images which we suggest you present to your usual health care professionals.
